**Cheeka**

Meet Cheeka. She is four years old, gorgeous, athletic, and possesses the kind of prey drive that makes squirrels check their life insurance policies.

Cheeka has been with us since November 2025. She’s come a long way, but let’s be real: I’m losing sleep picturing us on a lovely walk where she successfully ignores a bird, only for an unleashed, potato-sized lap dog to barrel toward us like a furry missile. Spoiler alert: Cheeka is not a fan of the potato-sized dogs. In fact, she’s not a fan of about 90% of dogs in general. She likes roughly one out of every ten dogs—specifically, those who match her frantic energy and immediately submit. So, basically, she’s looking for a canine doormat.

Let’s address the elephant (or rather, the bite history) in the room. Cheeka has a bite on her resume. The victim? A neighbor foolishly attempting to trim weeds. Clearly, Cheeka is a passionate botanist and union rep for local foliage.

Here is the unfiltered, non-sugar-coated resume for Miss Cheeka:

The Good: She’s fun, loves trying new things, is super motivated, eager to learn, and actually great with human strangers! (Just maybe keep her away from your sketchy weed-trimmer).
The Bad: High prey drive, highly anxious when triggered, and dog-reactive with a fierce leash fixation.
The Ugly: Absolutely no small kids, zero small dogs, and muzzles in public are 100% non-negotiable.

I’ve had multiple trainer friends assess her because I constantly second-guess my own sanity. They all agree: she needs a unicorn home with hyper-responsible owners who will keep up her training. Sure, board-and-train might speed things up, but it doesn't magically create a permanent adopter at the end of it. And let’s talk about the current rescue climate. My Facebook notifications are a graveyard of hundreds of tags weekly for dogs just like Cheeka. Nobody wants them. Since COVID, everyone seems to want the "perfect bully," and let’s face it, we will never be that kind of rescue.

I don't believe in sanctuaries—especially for young, behaviorally complex dogs. They deserve a real life, not a cage in a field. I also take Behavioral Euthanasia (BE) very seriously. I don’t jump the gun, and I always consult professionals. I don’t want to go that route with Cheeka yet because, honestly? I actually really like her.

She was originally adopted out by another rescue to a family with zero dog experience (classic mistake), and we have zero info on her life before that. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and waiting for that impossible needle in a haystack.

Could that be you?

We are offering a Foster-to-Adopt arrangement. We will completely cover all training expenses, and adoption fees are totally waived. If you have the fortress-like management skills, the patience of a saint, and a deep love for spicy high-drive dogs, please let's give Cheeka a shot. 🙏

**Momma Fresh**

No more baby mama drama! 👏👏🥰 Miss Fresh is officially spayed, and I couldn't be more relieved.

Going into this, I was a little nervous. I’m pretty sure this was her very first vet visit ever, so I desperately wanted to make it a pawsitive one ☝️. Thankfully, she did absolutely amazing—way better than I had even hoped for!

A massive shoutout to the incredible staff (check them out here). They are so gentle, calm, experienced, and completely force-free all the way 🤗.

Here is how Miss Fresh’s spa-day-turned-vet-visit actually went down:

The Meet-and-Greet: Momma met everyone on leash first. No pressure, no rush.
Instant Trust: Once Miss Fresh realized these people were my friends, she walked right up to Dr. Brigitte and gave her the ultimate seal of approval: a full-body lean-in.
The VIP Treatment: I got text updates throughout the day. When I picked her up, the staff said everyone just loved her. She left with tail wags and new BFFs.
The Grand Exit: She walked out like she literally owned the place, then said goodbye by sprinting straight into my arms 🤗.

Miss Fresh is basically the world's most chill dog. Let's look at her resume:

She is a pro at car rides and aggressively leans into turns 🤣.
She politely tolerates my terrible singing 🎵.
She doesn’t care about other dogs on walks; she just sits there observing traffic like a furry crossing guard, as if to say, "Yooo B, watch that car!" 😆😆

Above all else, I am just so, so happy she is finally spayed. Let's be real: she’s spent way too much of her life making money over and over and over again for some POS 🤬.

Not anymore. Miss Fresh's breeding days are officially behind her, and it’s her turn to just live, be spoiled, and watch the traffic go by 🙏❤️‍🩹.

Rocky

The Introverted Overlord Who Just Wants a Quiet Couch (Adoption Fee Waived!)

Let’s be honest for a second. Everyone says they want a "social butterfly" dog. You know the type—the canine equivalent of an extrovert who makes eye contact with every single stranger, barks at squirrels like they owe them rent, and treats every neighborhood walk like a political meet-and-greet.

Exhausting, right?

Enter Rocky. 🥹

Rocky is the cool, chilled-out introvert of the dog world. While other dogs are having existential crises because a pigeon looked at them funny on a walk, Rocky is unbothered. In fact, on walks or along the fence line, Rocky couldn't care less about other people or dogs. He’s got his own inner monologue going on, and honestly, we respect the boundaries.

Recently, Rocky even met my good buddy Sue (go check her out at @suesrescue!) and smoothly hopped right into her Jeep like the absolute boss he is. 🚗💨

So, what kind of life is Rocky looking for? Let’s break it down:

The Dream Home: A quiet house with a yard. No high-traffic, hustle-and-bustle city apartments for this guy—too many strangers breaking his Zen. He’d make an absolute legendary companion for a retired couple or a quiet household looking for a loyal buddy.

The Bodyguard: He is phenomenal with kids and takes his job as household protector very seriously. He’s got your back, your kids' back, and your toaster’s back.

The Overachiever: Rocky has all his commands down pat and has great recall. (Translation: He actually listens to you. I know, groundbreaking.)

Zero Drama: He’s crate trained, has zero anxiety, and has no visible allergies. Basically, he’s lower maintenance than your houseplants.

We are trying so hard for you, buddy. We just want to help Rocky find his final resting spot (meaning his forever couch to retire on in absolute peace and luxury, to be crystal clear!).

To sweeten the deal, his adoption fee is completely waived, and he comes with everything he needs to move right in.

He won’t disappoint you. So let's get this legend home. Check out his original post here to get the full scoop.

Love ya, Rock. 🤘❤️ Let's find your people.

**Darcy**

The incredible 8-year-old canine dynamo who clearly hasn't read the memo on "slowing down" – honestly, her energy levels belong in a puppy, not a wise elder! This spirited rural girl, boasting recall so amazing it'd make a sheepdog blush, lives for adventure, whether it's a thrilling car ride where she's the ultimate co-pilot on "errands" or a serious tug-of-war session where her toy is quite literally life itself.

She's been patiently waiting a whopping 2.5 years for her forever home, a testament to her resilient spirit, and while she needs to be the undisputed queen of her castle as the only fur-child, she offers so much more in return.

Imagine a best friend who’s always ecstatic to see you, fears absolutely nothing (except maybe running out of toys), happily nudges you out of bed for morning romps, and then cuddles up for cozy nights. Oh, and don't let her "experienced" teeth fool you; when she latches onto that tug, you're in for one wildly impressive grip!

This special girl has been through the wringer and come out smiling, and honestly, forget the fees – all she needs is a loving, safe place to write her final, incredible chapter.

** 🍀 Lucky 🍀**

She came into my life as a stray, roaming the streets with a rugged male Corso-type boyfriend she must have met on Tinder. Sadly, no one ever claimed her. She’s roughly 2.5 to 3 years old, fully spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and—miracle of miracles—possesses zero allergies and zero anxiety. Honestly, I’m jealous of her gut health and mental state.

I fell in love with Lucky fast, and not just because she’s easy on the eyes. Let me explain. I love watching sport dogs. I could watch them all day. It’s amazing to see the handlers work their magic. But my heart? My heart wants to see the underdog. Literally. We all know we can never beat the multi-million-dollar Ferrari in the racing circuit, but man, wouldn’t it be fun to build a sleeper civic and try to keep up with them? 🤗 You catch my drift?

Sadly, time is a myth I can’t seem to conquer. Between my business, rescue dogs, and my own pack of twelve dogs, there just aren't enough hours in the day for me to dive into the dog sport world with Lucky. It sucks. I wish I could. But hey, that means your chance has arrived to have some fun and show the world what a rescue dog can really do. Or, you know, just use her as an excuse to get out of awkward social gatherings.

Here’s the rundown: Lucky excels at literally everything. Well, everything except dog parks

🤣 (Let's just say she prefers a more exclusive guest list) 🤣

We’re talking flirt pole, spring pole, treadmill, slat mill, dock diving, swimming, ball, tug, bite sleeve, and weight pulling. We haven't tried the wall climb yet, but given her enthusiasm, she'd probably scale my kitchen cabinets just to see what I'm snacking on. Her obedience is absolute insanity when she’s engaged in work. At 65 pounds, she’s as sweet as a bakery treat, but she packs a serious punch when she's locked in.

And the holy grail of dog ownership? She has the most amazing off-switch. 👏👏

She’s phenomenal with people, and she mostly gives a collective shrug about other dogs—though she will gracefully pin them down if they get all up in her personal bubble. (Boundaries, people!) She does have a prey drive for cats and squirrels, but her obedience is on point on command 🤙.

Her Dream Home: An active family who loves adventures and wants to push Lucky to her full potential. A structured home is ideal, as she’s fantastic in her crate and wonderfully quiet. She’s a dream on pack walks, has great recall, and stays completely clean in the house—unless, of course, you leave her alone with tennis balls and stuffed animals, in which case a crime scene investigation will be necessary 🤣.

Here is my parting gift to the right human: I will literally donate her adoption fee back to you with proof of training, or if she goes on to train with the amazing folks at Dan Kroft K9 (@dankroftk9). Honestly, I’d love to see her join the Irondog family and go out there to compete against all breeds ❤️.

She’s a ridiculously special girl. I promise 🙏. Come get your teammate! (Adoption Fee Waived!)

****Roxy****

She is roughly four-and-a-half to five-and-a-half months old, weighs a very manageable 35 pounds, and is one-third of the magical "Harry Potter trio" found abandoned earlier this year. We are currently waiting on her Embark DNA results, which I assume will reveal a complex cocktail of Mystery Mutt, Professional Tennis Ball Retriever, and Certified Chaos Gremlin.

Right now, Roxy is living her best rural pack life. Having likely known only her siblings prior to rescue, she gravitates toward other dogs and has fit into my household like a glove. She isn’t overly clingy—she’s not the type to smother you in non-stop, dramatic declarations of undying love—but she will occasionally ambush you with a stealth hug and a surprise kiss, just to keep you on your toes.

She is already a dream in several departments: a fantastic sleeper, fully house-trained (as long as you keep to a routine), zero food or toy guarding issues, and great with kids! (Cats, however, are met with an immediate, highly offended bark. Boundary set.)

Best of all? Her eyes literally change color. It is the coolest, slightly magical party trick.

Of course, she does have a few resume flaws. For starters, she has no idea what her name is. You can shout "Roxy!" and she will look at you with the blank, serene expression of a potato. She also needs some work on the leash, a refresher on the crate, and a crash course in basic obedience—mostly because she is at that golden age where her brain is a sponge, meaning she'll learn fast (for better or worse).

She is super food-motivated and deeply, passionately in love with tennis balls. 🎾

I honestly don’t think she’s going to get much bigger. I’ll be genuinely shocked if she hits a solid 50 pounds, making her the absolute jackpot size: big enough to be a "real" dog, but small enough that she won’t accidentally launch you into the neighbor’s yard during a leash slip.

She’s vaccinated, fully vetted, and has a spay appointment locked in for next week. I love having her here, but this smart little witch is ready for her forever chapter and needs a family who can give her the guidance and attention she’s primed for.

Could Roxy be the magic your home is missing? ✨🐾

**AVAILABLE SOON**

![Cipher](https://tysonnfriends.ca/hubfs/Cipher.jpg)

**Available Soon - Cipher**

In his mind, he is a majestic, broad-shouldered Labrador Retriever built for duck retrieval and dock diving. In reality, he is a pint-sized pocket-rocket who currently tops out at roughly the size of a very opinionated loaf of bread. But don’t tell him that. His delusions of canine grandeur are strong.

Cipher came to us with a bit of a backstory. Having spent the majority of his first year of life living with a senior citizen, his previous social calendar consisted of afternoon naps, watching the 6 o'clock news, and absolutely nothing else. Consequently, when he joined our rescue, he was about as under-socialized as a hermit crab living in a Wi-Fi-free cave.

At just over a year old, he’s a total angel when we’re hanging out in our quiet, rural area. Out here, he’s a regular Zen master. But last week, we made the fatal error of taking our rural guru on a field trip into town for a supply run at the pet store.

The second the automatic doors slid open, all of Cipher’s hard-earned obedience flew straight out the window, hitchhiked on a passing shopping cart, and never looked back. To be fair, I still had physical control of him—mostly because he weighs about as much as a damp washcloth—but I certainly didn't like what I saw. As someone running a rescue, I hold us to a high standard, and let’s just say Cipher’s pet store debut looked less like The Dog Whisperer and more like a cartoon Tasmanian Devil auditioning for a circus.

It’s a humbling reminder that rescues simply need to be better, and that takes time. Unfortunately, time is currently my rarest commodity.

Running a rescue is a brutal seasonal balancing act. Summer and Christmas are my absolute peak months for client work—which is fantastic, because paying clients keep a literal roof over the rescue's head and kibble in the bowls. The tragic irony, of course, is that the very work required to fund the rescue is what steals my time away from training the rescue dogs.

So, Cipher’s formal obedience education is officially on hold until I can clone myself or carve out more hours in the day. I might have to outsource. I’m seriously considering a 50/50 arrangement where I send him on a "study abroad" program to stay with a few trusted trainer friends who actually have hours in the day to civilize him.

Photos and videos truly don’t do him justice, by the way. He is ridiculously, blindingly adorable, which is 100% the evolutionary cheat code he uses to avoid being returned to sender when he acts like a tiny furry lunatic.

We’ll get him there in time. Until then, please send patience, coffee, and maybe a tiny high-visibility vest so the world knows the Lab trapped in a Chihuahua's body is coming through.

Available Soon - KANE

PART-TIME THIEF, FULL-TIME GOOD BOY!
Let’s be honest for a second. Take one look at this face, and you’ll instantly realize this boy is leading a double life. One minute he looks like he’s plotting an elaborate heist to clear out the local steakhouse, and the next, he’s ready to steal your entire heart. 😂🦝🖤
Meet Kane. He’s a one-year-old Pitsky (that’s Pitbull meets Husky for the uninitiated, meaning you’re getting equal parts couch potato and pure, unadulterated chaos).
Poor Kane hasn’t had the easiest start to his criminal—er, canine—career. He came from a rough drug home and spent the last six months of his youth living out of a cage at a boarding facility. Safe to say, this kid’s resume needs a serious update. It’s finally time for him to learn what being a real dog is all about!

Here are the vital stats on our resident masked bandit:

Age: 1 year old (Prime shenanigans era)
Breed: Pitsky (Pitbull x Husky)
Status: Neutered and fully up-to-date on his vaccines
Feline Relations: Great with cats… as long as the cats don't decide to randomly beat him up. (He's a lover, not a fighter!)
Canine Companions: LOVES female dogs ❤️🐕. He plays rough, so he needs a furry sister who appreciates a good backyard wrestling match. 🤼‍♂️
Human Siblings: Best suited for older children.
First Impressions: A little shy with strangers at first.
Love Language:🍗 VERY food motivated. (Bribes totally work on him, I checked.)
Hobbies: Being outside. Honestly, if you let him, he would happily spend 24 hours a day basking in the yard like a furry solar panel. 🌳☀️

And then, of course, there’s the Husky half of his DNA. 😂

Let me warn you: Kane is not the kind of dog you can just march up to and shout, “OKAY BUDDY, LOVE ME RIGHT NOW!” No, sir. Kane likes to play it cool. He needs a minute to assess the situation, judge your outfit, and decide if you’ve actually earned the extreme privilege of his friendship. But once you’re in? You are in for life. ❤️
He’s goofy, he’s energetic, and after spending six months behind literal bars, he is ready to trade his “life of crime” for a legitimate lifestyle of epic outdoor adventures, high-value snacks, and aggressive couch cuddling.
All this boy needs is a family with a little bit of patience, some solid structure, and a whole lot of love. Are you ready to give this reformed criminal the happily-ever-after he deserves? 💕
Reach out today to meet Kane!
